Start Scouting for the 2014 NFL Draft!

2014 NFL Draft Prospects Jadeveon ClowneyHopefully, your iGM team is thinking more about the playoffs right now than the 2014 NFL Draft.  But whether that’s the case or not, it’s never too early to get started on scouting for next spring!

We’re happy once again to give you the tools to do your scouting right here on our site.  And, soon, we’ll again have a downloadable prospects spreadsheet that you can use on your own if you like.

This table will change, probably a lot, over the coming months.  It includes underclassmen who may return to school, and doesn’t include others who may opt to come out early.  We’ll adjust accordingly as the picture clears up.

Special thanks to the great team at CBSSports.com, the source for this table.  Year after year, they do a great job of putting together the most “data-friendly” table on the web.

To get started, go to the Scouting page under the Draft Room tab (be sure you’re logged in if you want to make changes.)

One big change this year is that we will include links to scouting videos on the Scouting pages (both views.)  It’s a bit early for that, as there are not a lot of good videos out there yet, especially for the less-prominent players.  We did put the best we could find for the first 20 prospects, to give everyone an idea of how this will work.

Please note that the video links are a premium feature available to paid members only.  Free members can check out the videos for QBs only.  These videos are all in the public domain; we’re merely offering this service as a convenience to make your experience more enjoyable.

New Premium Member Contest

One thing that I always find interesting is when we get prospects from colleges that haven’t been represented before.  This is our fifth year doing this, and we’re still getting a lot of them.  This time, we’re going to have a little fun with the process with a contest for new Members…

Anyone who is not currently a Premium Member of our site can get 30% off your first-year ($69 instead of $99) if you send an email to admin@PowerHouseGM.com that correctly identifies the nickname of all of these first-time colleges.  For example, Lindenwood University is the “Lions.”  This offer is for new subscribers only!

First-time Colleges

  • Lindenwood U., St. Charles, MO – CB Pierre Desir
  • Shepherd U., Shepherdsville, WV – OLB Howard Jones
  • Shippensburg U., Shippensburg, PA – DE Jake Metz.  Shippensburg is the alma mater of Dolphins CB Brent Grimes and Packers FB and cult hero John Kuhn.
  • Concordia U. – St. Paul, St. Paul, MN – DE Zach Moore
  • U. of West Alabama – Livingston, AL – RB Kedrick Rhodes, CB Malcolm Butler, and SS Demetruce McNeal
  • Dixie State U., St. George, UT – TE Joe Don Duncan.  JuCo alma mater of RB Corey Dillon, RB Reno Mahe, and DT Junior Siavii

Once you have all 14 nicknames, sign up for your Premium Membership, and send your answers to admin@PowerHouseGM.com.  Good luck!

We’re very excited to unofficially kick off this year’s scouting cycle.  It’s sure to be a great one, especially with the NFL Draft pushed back to May.  More time to prepare; more time for debate.
