NFL Team Needs | Blaine Gabbert: Why 2012 Can Be Breakout Year for Jaguars QB
By Gary Davenport, Bleacher Report
2011 was nothing short of a nightmare for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The 22-year-old struggled mightily as a rookie, throwing for just over 2,200 yards and 12 touchdowns versus 11 interceptions while posting a paltry 5.4 yards per attempt, which ranked dead last among the NFL’s starting quarterbacks.
Jacksonville’s offense also brought up the rear in the National Football League in 2011, but if the first two preseason games are any indication, then Gabbert may be ready to take the mythical “next step” and lead the Jaguars into offensive respectability, regardless of who lines up behind him at tailback.
